Handwoven wrap/scarf by contemporary weaver Christopher Duncan
This shawl has a warp of black wiry linen, woven with a weft of
charcoal New Zealand merino wool. One end is pure undyed
linen weft accentuating the texture and contrasting linens.
Details are made up of gold lacquered Japanese silk and vintage
found silks in a soumak warp wrapping technique. The fringe is
hand knotted and tassel cut to 16cm or so.
All pieces by Christopher Duncan are unique and have there own personal stories/signatures/figures layed in during the weaving process.
