ROSE XI - a black sleeveless kimono

ROSE XI

This sleevless kimono vest is woven with a warp of cotton. The wefts are predominantly merino wool with a band of cotton and antique Japanese silk through the waist. Varying weave structures create a rhythm throughout the textile. The details are woven in different silks. The neckline and hem are finished by hand. The ties are made with cotton tape. 

All pieces by Christopher Duncan are unique and have there own personal stories, signatures and figures laid in during the weaving process.
