Founded by Takeji Tajika in 1938. At that time, as they were undertaking forging work outsourced to them, they were making tailor shears and some other special variety of scissors as well. In the days when it is run by Haruo Tajika, the heir of the founder, there were still many scissor craftsmen and they didn't receive much attention, however, he played a great role in laying the foundations of the factory, thus they kept his name in the factory's name. Now it's run by Takeo and Daisuke Tajika, the second and third-generation heirs.
When broken down into finer categories, there are over 70 different kinds of scissors. While they primarily make tailor shears, they also make garden trimmers, and they started their own “TAjiKA” brand in 2008, to keep up with the changing needs of the times.
