Mud dyed brown hospital trousers
by Taiga Takahashi
Mud dyed (doro zome) brown hospital trousers by Taiga Takahashi with side pockets, two vent button closure jetted back pockets, metal buttons and ribbon in waist.
Mud dyeing is a traditional dyeing technique that has been handed down for 1,300 years on the subtropical island of Amami Oshima, which is also a World Heritage Site. The iron in the mud and the tannic acid in the techee wood combine to produce a beautiful deep brown colour with a unique sheen.
